The Jaywalker Stilts are the only stilt in the world with bending toe and heel section. This design was to mimic the foot exactly, with minimal stresses on muscles. The bushings are all Mechanical Grade Teflon therefore giving the stilt a smooth action with very little friction or unnatural motion. As the performer goes up onto the balls of their feet, the stilt breaks into sections and mimics this exactly-without have to force a spring to act like its doing the same motion. The heel joint is in place for two reasons. One, It helps to translate heel strike stresses forward with less impact on the heel. Second, it acts as a safety device. If you were to clip your heel on a curb or like structure, this allows you to get your foot to the ground quicker and the performer is less likely to fall.

These stilts have been tested at Duke University and have proven to be stronger than even we could imagine. Included is the study done on an Earthquake Machine testing various points on the stilt considered to be the weakpoints.

The Jaywalker stilt has also been looked at by rigors of California OSHA and they have given their blessing to be used in California.
